Annual Meeting

Hosted By

True Colours

At

Brantham on the 30th October 2010, From 1.30pm

               Troupes Present:

True Colours, Destiny, Ice Illusions, East London Royals, New Horizon, Tri Star Twirlers, Platinum,

Diamond Lites, Ipswich Gold and Whites, Blue Star Twirlers, Starlite Twirlers

                Apologies:

Electralites, Leanne Freestone, Mary Gibbons, Nicola Long, Jacqui Gehring.

                    1.    Military March to be taken back to Military Freestyle. Need to check score sheets online.

                    2.    Tiny Freestyle and Tiny Flag to be introduced. Troupes unsure whether we would have time on a competition day for it,

so it was agreed that the troupe holding the competition gets to decide if it’s included. Juvenile Freestyle is also to

                         be introduced.

                    3.    Confirmed timings for Tiny Tots: max 4 minutes for all Tiny Tot routines.

                    4.    Baton score sheets to remain the same however if troupes feel that they do not have a judge who is qualified enough to

count all baton twirls then troupes are allowed to form their own baton score sheet. This must be made aware to all troupes

when they are given their competition invitation.

                    5.    SAM competition dates that are so far confirmed: True Colours – 12th June, New Horizon – 10th July, Tri-Star – 31st July

(may be moved to the 24th July).  Diamond Lites – August, Platinum –TBA.

                    6.    Mascot 1st-3rd places are optional.

                    7.    Troupes prefer to have Juveniles outside rather than in a hall. Again this is up to the troupe holding the competition and

it is their job to ensure that all troupes are made aware of where the girls will be performing prior to the competition day.

                    8.    We are bringing back ‘Overall’.

                    9.    Discussed ages for sections: 9 or under – Tiny Tot, 12 or under – Juvenile, 15 or under – Junior. All ages are as from the 1st January.

                   10.    Tiny scores are to be included in the overall score.

                   11.    It is advised that all troupes check that all majorettes are using the correct baton size.

                    12.    Please check that all drums are using the correct sized mace. If maces are too short you can add some rubber ferrule

onto the end of the mace. There is a 5 point deduction off the drums score if their mace is too short. This does not

                            apply to Tiny Tot drums.

                    13.    Discussed whether we would have time for a babies section. It was decided by the majority that we don’t have time

at present for this new age section.

                    14.    Then we discussed to move the tiny tot age down from 9. It was agreed that we would keep the ages the same for this

year and look into bringing the ages down for next year.

                Meeting closed 2.50pm.
